ChatGPT Plus vs ChatGPT Pro: is the upgrade worth it?
Every number below comes from the vendor's own pricing page, linked next to it. Last checked 2026-10-19. Where a vendor doesn't publish a limit, we say so.
Upgrade to Pro ($100, $200 or $500/mo) if Codex's 5-hour limit is what stops you: Pro plans currently have no five-hour limit (weekly allowance not published). Pro also raises context to 128K / 400K (from 54K / 256K) and gives unlimited* voice and images under reasonable use. Ultrafast mode is $500-tier only.
Stay on Plus ($20/mo) if the per-5-hour Codex estimates (for example GPT-6 Luna 350-3,000 local messages) cover your week.
